War On The North Shore 17 = 8 Straight!

Friday the 2nd of December saw the last fight night of 2011 for the PTJ fighters. War on the North Shore 17, promoted by Nick Stone was held at the North Sydney leagues club and PTJ Muaythai Gym had a great following to finish off the year with a bang. The team was 6 wins from 6 fights going into the promotion and Scott Wilson and Sam Minervini were looking to take it to 8 from 8.

Sam Minevini vs Esmir Feratovic

After breaking the PTJ 1st fight curse in his first fight, Sam was extremely focussed on taking home his second win in preparation for this fight. Both boys came out with a bang, and Sam knowing that with the rounds being reduced to 1.5 mins knew that he could apply pressure for the whole bout. He had no hesitation in doing this as both boys came out guns blazing with cracking kicks, then Sammy landed a nice left hook to score a knock down in the opening minute. Sam stayed composed and continued to apply pressure in the 2nd, scoring yet another knock down after a flurry of punches. Sam did very well not to let the constant fouls of his opponent get to him as they went unnoticed by the referee. The 3rd saw Sam stay composed and coast through to a nice points win.

Scott Wilson vs Emre Nazlioglu

Scott was going into this fight after a 2 fight winning/KO streak and eager to make it a hat trick for himself, and 8 straight wins for the team. Emre from JWK City was a strong awkward fighter, but Scott managed to find range and landed to heavy leg kicks in the first which cause visible damage to his opponents lead leg. The second round saw Scott step up a gear and continue to attack the lead leg, and with his opponent now switching stance to avoid the punishment created an opening for some nice punch combinations as well which lead to a standing eight count being applied. The 3 round saw the awkward Emre continue to come forward and was landing some nice knee strikes on Scott, but he weathered the storm and scored a nice take down to seal the deal. The points decision make is a hat trick for Scott and 8 straight wins for the team.

Once again, a big thanks to everyone who came down to support and thanks to Nathan, Big Sexy and Tyler for all the help out the back.

With the 8 wins from 8 fight winning streak, the PTJ fight team will be looking for a big 2012 with a couple of new additions also looking to have their first fights.
